Delivering exceptional power and torque, the Suzuki RMX450Z is powered by a 449cc, four-stroke single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, 4-valve engine, with fuel injection.

A modified inlet tract and revised cam profiles enhance low and mid-range power, while the airbox features a hinged lid for quick air filter access, easier maintenance and better dust protection.

Wider primary and final drive ratios in the five-speed transmission help riders get the most from the engine when off the beaten track, while the included bash plate provides protection when tackling a rutted uphill goat track.

Based on the RM-Z450 but optimised for off-road riding, an aluminium alloy frame utilises cast and extruded sections in a slim, lightweight, rigid and tough package.

The RMX450Z features a Showa suspension package derived from the championship winning RM-Z450 – the 47mm inverted front forks are fully adjustable for rebound and compression settings, while the rear shock unit offers fully adjustable rebound, compression (high and low speed) and pre-load settings.

The RMX450Z’s compact instrumentation offers riders the choice between two modes, a sports mode showing the basic information a rider needs in competition, such as a trip meter, timer and average speed, while a standard mode displays additional information including speed, time and information of two trip lengths.

Featuring an all new engine, chassis and suspension developments the RM Z250 has already had an impressive racing record.  Australian Pro Lite star Matt Moss has raced four times and won them all in the 2009 Super X Championship.

“When Suzuki introduced fuel-injected engines to the RM-Z450, it broke the mould for motocross racing,” Perry Morison, General Manager, Motorcycles, Suzuki Australia said.

“That technology is now set to revolutionise quarter-litre racing, with the all-new, fuel-injected Suzuki RM-Z250.

“With a host of other major developments to an already-successful package, the 2010 Suzuki RM-Z250 is the ultimate, race-ready 250cc motocrosser.”

The RM Z250 has a compact and lightweight 249cc four stroke single cylinder engine that is liquid cooled and has DOHC. The engine upgrades include titanium valves, more rigid crankshaft, a stronger connecting rod and a battery less fuel pump.

The radiator louvers have been redesigned to assist with better cooling in competition, while chassis and suspension updates help with handling with better balance and traction.

The disc brakes now have wave rotors to improve disc brake cooling. The new textured seat improves riding position and comfort and the Renthal tapered aluminium handlebars and handlebar pad reduce vibrations.

DR-Z400E.

The RMX450Z features the same 449cc fuel-injected engine that revolutionised motocross in the Suzuki RM-Z450, along with a host of other common components – it’s a high-spec off-road weapon.”

An integrated tyre diameter calculator allows precise fine tuning for different tyres, giving racers accurate live data for speed and distance displays.

The brand-new, 2010 Suzuki RMX450Z* will be available in Australia in late 2009.

Further enhancing throttle response and power throughout its rev range, the 449cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC, 4-valve engine features a new cylinder head, piston, crankshaft, throttle body, cam shafts and valve springs.

Pioneered by Suzuki, the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system is even better with a reversed throttle valve movement, directing mist away from the valve to produce more power and enhanced throttle response.

The perfect match for a potent engine, 2010 RM-Z450 riders will benefit from significant chassis and suspension development.

A new, more rigid, twin-spar aluminium frame is accompanied by a new subframe, linkage and rear swingarm, and enhanced, race-bred Showa suspension to help provide sharper handling, improved manoeuvrability and maximum traction.

With revised spring and damping rate settings at each end, 47mm inverted front forks are fully adjustable for rebound and compression settings, while the rear shock absorber offers fully adjustable rebound, compression and pre-load settings.

The new RM-Z450 also features a new radiator and significant electrical upgrades including ECU revisions, as part of the ultimate motocross weapon.

The Suzuki 2010 RM-Z450 is now available in Australia through all Suzuki stockists.
