World Ducati Week announced

If you ever needed another reason to visit Italy this is it, World Ducati Week. Now that the 2010 MotoGP and SBK calendars have been published, the date for WDW has been set and, after a three-year wait, countless Ducati enthusiasts can now put the 10th to 13th June 2010 in their diaries.

The Italian Misano World Circuit will once again host proceedings, and during the four-day period Ducati will offer a rich programme of fun-filled, action-packed and bike-themed events. Shows, track tests, special appearances by riders and stuntmen, bike tours, visits to the Ducati museum and factory, historic bike exhibitions, conferences and, above all, the congregation of the world’s Ducatisti, the undisputed stars of the show.

2010 Ducati 1198 S

Ducati’s award-winning 1198 S Superbike enters the 2010 model year with a bold new trio of colour schemes to distinguish its bodywork, frame and wheels.

The new year’s 1198 S retains its successful formula of the 1198cc Testastretta Evoluzione L-twin engine, developing 125kW and a class-busting 131.4Nm torque, and standard-equipment electronics that include eight-mode DTC traction control and DDA data analysis.

Hypermotard 796, affordable anarchy

Ducati has announced that Australian RRP for the exciting “urban upstart” Hypermotard 796 will commence at just $15,990*.

Released at this year’s EICMA show in Milan, the Hypermotard 796 features an all-new 803cc Desmodue L-twin engine developing an impressive 60kW.

2010 Ducati models revealed

Ducati have been releasing a lot of info recently on their 2010 range. Earlier in the week we gave you a detailed look at the new Multistrada 1200. Now it is time to bring you up to date with few more machines from the 2010 model line-up.

The 2010 SportClassic family is represented by the 70s-era style of the GT 1000.The GT is powered by the outstanding Desmo 1000 Dual Spark engine. The torquey air-cooled 90º L-Twin is the perfect match to power this Ducati classic bike with a sporting soul.

Ducati Multistrada 1200 revealed

When the original Ducati Multistrada arrived in 2003 it was a bike that tried to be everything to everyone. Six years on a Ducati continue to evolve the design to achieve their goal of producing a versatile bike able to achieve impressive levels of performance at all times and in all places.

The new Multistrada 1200 employs a host of electronic technologies including: Keyless starting and filler cap, on board computer, tyre pressure monitoring, fly by wire throttle, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), ABS and Ducati Electronic Suspension (DES).

Ducati to re-release the Pantah?

Rumours this morning from designer Oberdan Bezzi say that Ducati is planning a more basic range of motorcycles to complement the Monster, SportClassicand Superbike model lines.

This could include a remake of the early ’80s Pantah featuring a more modern design with belt-driven cams and desmodromic valve operation.

2009 Ducati 1198 S

A combination of Ducati’s technical excellence and Troy Bayliss’ passion has come together to create a new Superbike  – the 1198 S.

While maintaining the same look as the previous multi-awarding and BOTY winning 1098 S, the 1198 S is essentially a total new bike underneath.
