Sydney Motorcycle Show – it’s show time!
The Sydney Motorcycle Show will be kicking off from 10am Friday the 20th. For some of us that is just too far off, so here is a taste of what it is to come.
In what is a world first, visitors will have the opportunity to see the production version of the Fischer MRX, an all-new US-designed and manufactured sports bike.
Featuring a world-first one-piece Grand Prix chassis, the ‘American Exotic’ is an ex-AMA Superbike rider’s local answer to a motorcycle market dominated by Japanese and European manufacturers.
Dan Fischer set out to create an American produced sports bike in an efficient manner, without sacrificing style or rideability and this 650 V-twin powered machine is the result.
The Fischer MRX has now arrived in Australia (pictured top), where the 2010 production version will be uncovered for the first time at the Sydney show.
If looks (or price) could no one would leave the show alive, the MV Agusta F4 CC would see to that.
Undoubtedly the most expensive item available at the show, the very last MV Agusta F4 CC ever made. The F4 CC is named after the President of MV Agusta, Italy, Claudio Castiglioni and boasts an exclusive retail price of $185,000 (AUD).
The F4 CC features an up-spec engine to 1078cc, 200hp, rated to 315km/h and an abundance of technical upgrades. There is a select build number of 100 units only worldwide. 1 for Claudio Castiglioni, 99 for the world.
Australian MV Agusta importer, the Paul Feeney Group secured one last production F4 CC machine and the bike will be available for sale this weekend at the Sydney Motorcycle Show.
Triumph will be unveiling its new 2010 ‘Rocket Roadster’, flown out from the UK especially for the show, the Roadster is bound to impress with not just its sheer size, but with specifications that would make any horsepower nut go weak at the knees.
Triumph will also have its full range on display, including the newly released Thunderbird.
Also making its first appearance in front of a local audience is BMW Motorrad’s F 800 R Chris Pfeiffer edition, featuring a number of competition-spec upgrades to celebrate the stunt rider’s success.
The production version will be revealed to Sydney show goers this weekend and will be available by special order only, with delivery slated for April 2010.
Over at the Suzuki stand team Joe Rocket Suzuki young gun Josh Waters and three-times Australian Superbike Champion Shawn Giles will be signing autographs and greeting fans. They will be joined by Isle of Man Superbike Champion Cameron Donald (Team Relentless Suzuki by TAS Racing) this Friday only.
